A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
I have been obsessed with beauty for as long as I can remember. My mother was of that generation where women never left the house without being impeccably made up. I know this helped shape an obsession with makeup from a very early age.
When I became a makeup artist, skin became incredibly important. Applying products on other people’s skin meant I had a duty to treat it with the utmost care.
In my younger years, I had my own skin issues which led to a desperate obsession with finding solutions. From acid peels, abrasive scrubs, microdermabrasion, and maximum strength everything, I realised that my skin really didn’t change in any dramatic way and often became worse. Then I was diagnosed with rosacea and told to stop using so many strong actives. I had damaged my skin barrier when I thought I was doing all the right things.
I realised that in order to have glowing and vibrant skin, you need a healthy and strong skin barrier.
It became my mission to figure out how to use the actives I knew worked, in a way that wouldn’t disrupt or damage the skin barrier, how to repair the damage that was done and build an armour to prevent future damage. And how to do it in as few steps as possible.
Skincare was moving into high potency actives, percentages, layering. Devices that poked, shaved and peeled, putting skin into a constant damage/repair cycle. Sekkeizu’s philosophy is do no damage at any step.

When you look to nature and see the awe-inspiring beauty it has created. The sweeping sand dunes of our deserts, harmonious folds of vividly coloured sandstone canyons, glaciers whose ice caves shape and shift the light to create some of the most incredible beauty on Earth.
Nature has worked over time to create these gifts and so time should be allowed to do the same for us. We grow wiser with time, we grow more patient and understanding. We see and experience the world in different ways as we grow and age. I have been able to see this in my clients, who at 70+ have been some of the most beautiful models I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Time created this.
Time is just as important a factor for great skin. Rushing to get that glow, fix that spot, smooth out texture – all of these quick fixes are stripping skin of the time it needs to heal and strengthen. You need to give your skin the tools to develop its own defences. Slow down the pace. Focus on skin health and the glow will follow.
